Overwrappers for Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, and Consumer Goods
Bergami's line of automatic package wrappers has been engineered
specifically for packaging pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and
consumer
goods. Bergami wrappers perform overwrapping, a style of package
wrapping that covers cartons, trays, and bundles in
heat-sealable film. Also known as diamond-fold wrapping,
tuck-and-fold wrapping, gift box wrapping, or bundle wrapping,
overwrapping is ideal for wrapping packages that have flat sides,
and the film often includes a tear tape for easy opening.
Bergami package wrappers offer features which make the machines
ideally suited for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and consumer goods in
small to medium packages. The machines can be designed to
incorporate
an auto-collation system for creating wrapped bundles of
cartons, including fifth panel style cartons. The wrapper
product handler is designed to gently handle glossy cartons,
typically used in the cosmetics industry, without scratching or
damaging the carton finish. A servo-controlled brushless motor on
the film grippers allows the use of thin and difficult-to-handle
heat-sealable wrapping material such as PP, PVC, PE, cellophane,
etc. An option is available to wrap products with non heat-sealable
material, such as Kraft paper, which is sealed using glue. The
reel-fed film feeding system positions the film over the product to
create an aesthetic look to the finished product. A photocell may be
added to facilitate placing printed films exactly as required by the
carton.
All models of Bergami's overwrappers are engineered to current
cGMP standards. The "Balcony" design makes maintenance, clean-up,
and product changeover fast and easy. Changeover times average 15-20
minutes or less with few or no tools required. A self-diagnosis
display monitors a number of system errors such as low film
detection. Options for the wrappers include:
