July 2007, Blacksburg, VA — The dual pitch MB 120 Filler/Capper from ESS Technologies
offers the latest technology in servo controlled filling of powers
or liquids with a speed of up to 120 bottles per minute. The MB 120
Filler/Capper is designed to handle liquids or powders based on
several available product delivery systems. These include volumetric
pumps with ball valve, volumetric pumps with rotary valve, rotary
pumps, peristaltic pumps, piston fillers, and servo driven auger
systems.
The compact stainless steel monoblock system incorporates a balcony design and meets cGMP standards for ease in inspection, maintenance, and product changeover. Servo controls and a color touch screen allow the user to adjust for diving nozzles and dwell time as well as the pump fill rates. This enables the machine to do profile filling for irregularly shaped bottles. A variety of filling pumps may be used, including stainless steel and ceramic.
A feedback loop from the check-weigher provides for dynamic fill level adjustment due to fluctuating viscosity, and servo controlled filling speeds can be changed while in operation. The control system will also store preset programs for multiple production runs or products and maintain operational logs. The capping device applies the cap with a unique and reliable pre-torque feature. The final torque is accomplished using a stainless steel, magnetic clutch torque head. Cap feeders are centrifugal, providing quieter performance compared to conventional vibratory models. The MB 120 has a stainless steel exterior and hard-anodized aluminum inner frame for ease of cleaning. All movable parts are protected with clear Lexan guarding, assuring safety during operation.
Product options include integrated weigh cells, stoppers, pumps, brushes and a pre-torque and final torques closure. Explosion proof models are also available for a wide variety of applications.
